The Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology (CCMB) of the Council of Scientific
and Industrial Research (CSIR) is interested in appointing new faculty who have
shown excellence in their fields of research. We are looking for candidates who
would have the allround ability to establish and sustain a strong and high quality
scientific programme, and who would also contribute to the scientific and
intellectual environment at the institution in various ways. Our current faculty
have research interests that cover cell and developmental biology, structural
biology, genetics, biology of diseases, and computational biology. However, we
do not have set areas in mind when considering new applications and welcome
applications in areas that are different from those that are currently represented
at CCMB. If you are looking for a challenging, stimulating, as well as supportive
environment to work in, and if you feel that you have the interest, ability, and
commitment to establish an independent research programme of the highest
quality, we would like to hear from you. Please send in your application to the

(with names of 6-8 referees), a brief (1-2 page) account of your research and its
significance, and a statement of your future plans bringing out the issues that
your research would aim to address (2-4 pages).
Please
note that we are looking for potential candidates
at a senior level scientist position. The
candidates are expected to have a Ph. D. degree
with a few years of postdoctoral experience and
high quality publications in reputed journals.
