for Human Infectious Diseases
The
Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for a Clinical
Research Facility for Stem Cells &
Regenerative Medicine (CRF) and National
Bio-Safety Level-4 Containment Facility for Human
Infectious Diseases (NBCF) was held at CCMB on
November 3, 2007 at 12.05 p.m. Shri Kapil Sibal,
the Hon’ble Union Minister for Science &
Technology & Earth Sciences, Government of
India will be the Guest of Honour.
The
objectives of CRF would be to do basic research on
cell based therapies and tissue engineering with
specific applications for human diseases. The NBCF
will carry out basic research on highly infectious
and exotic microorganisms that can cause life
threatening human diseases and for which no cure
is available. The research at NBCF would
specifically focus on developing new methods for
the diagnosis and treatment of human infectious
diseases
