ADNAT is a
society of
professionals interested in promotion of various DNA technologies and
their
applications in health care, agriculture, biology, law and social
welfare with
emphasis on ethical, social, and legal implications of these
technologies. The
ADNAT has close to 600 members from all over the country and abroad,
comprising
of research scientists and scholars from universities, institutes,
hospitals,
nursing homes, forensic laboratories and corporate bodies. Through its
main
annual activity, the ADNAT holds a national convention every year with
a
two-day symposium and a 15-day residential training course on new DNA
technologies. These annual conventions have gone a long way in
fulfilling the
objectives of the Association in terms of increasing awareness about
new
developments in the area, promoting the use of DNA technologies and in
training
researchers in new methods of molecular analysis.
