Sequencing The key activities of this facility include DNA sequencing, SNP analysis, GeneScan and DNA fingerprinting. This laboratory provides support to all scientists working at CCMB and also to national laboratories, universities, hospitals and forensic laboratories across the country. This is one of the very vital facilities at CCM working round the clock. This facility is well equipped with gel and capillary based high-end DNA sequencers, DNA synthesizers, RNA synthesizers and Gel documental facilities, and Chemiluminiscense imaging systems.
The sequencing facility has played a vital role in some very important projects that include human genetic diversity, genetic disorders in plants, animals and microorganisms, and other key projects of CCMB. The GeneScan facility is of immense help in various disciplines like forensic analysis, population studies, medical applications, development of DNA markers, and amplified fragment length polymorphism.
