Green
House Primarily the rice plants are being grown and studied at the Greenhouse. The other plants being studied here include tomato and tobacco. Study of host-pathogen interactions is the key activity at the greenhouse. Virulence studies with mock field trials are conducted here to carry out behavioral study of pathogens on host plants. The Outcomes of these studies are used in combating the virulence effect of pathogens and in developing disease resistant varieties of plants. After years of research the greenhouse of CCMB developed a disease resistant variety of Sona-masoori rice, which benefited the farmers greatly with their produce.
