C C M B Eduroam

CSIR - Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) has become a part of Eduroam, a global Wifi roaming programme across academic campuses, through ERNET, India.

What is EDUROAM?

eduroam is a global secure service that enables students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop or activating their smartphone or other portable device through wifi.

Trouble free Wi-Fi access to CCMB guests who are from institutes which are part of eduroam network. Visitors to CCMB will be able to connect to CCMB eduroam network with their respective institution`s login credentials. CCMB users visits to eduroam participating organization they need to login with their internet_access_id@ccmb.res.in and password.

How to configure devices?
  1. Right-click on the Wifi icon and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Click on Set up a new connection or network
  3. Select Manually connect to a wireless network and click Next.
  4. Enter below fields and click Next
  5. Network name: eduroam
  6. Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
  7. Click on "Change connection settings"
  8. Click on the Security tab, Choose Microsoft: EAP-TTLS and then click on Settings
  9. Uncheck Enable identity privacy
  10. Click on Advanced settings ---> Check specify authentication mode ---> choose User authentication ---> click on Save credentials
  11. Enter your CCMB internet_access_id@ccmb.res.in & internet access password. Click on OK and Close.
  12. Now "eduroam" Wifi and click connect ( click connect again if it prompts any ).
  1. Click here to download config file. Unzip the file and click on the "mac_eduroam.mobileconfig".
  2. Accept/continue with all prompts and click on install at the last screen ( NO credentials are entered here ).
  3. After installation, close the window and connect to your "eduroam" wifi.
    • Username: your CCMB internet_access_id@ccmb.res.in ( eg. user@ccmb.res.in )
    • Passkey: your Internet access password
  1. Click on the eduroam SSID which will popup Wifi Authentication window.
  2. Now Check "No CA certificate is required".
  3. Change Inner Authentication to – PAP
  4. Enter your CCMB internet_access_id@ccmb.res.in & internet access password. Click on connect
  1. Click on the eduroam SSID which will popup Wifi Authentication window.
  2. Change EAP method to – TTLS
  3. Change Phase 2 Authentication to – PAP
  4. CA Certificate - Do not Validate
  5. Identity ( your CCMB internet_access_id@ccmb.res.in eg. user@ccmb.res.in )
  6. password ( your internet access password ) Click on connect.
