Training Program

It is not a conventional classroom lecture-based training program. Instead, each selected candidate/ trainee will be assigned to a CCMB staff scientist who will supervise/ mentor them during their stay. Each student is expected to execute a small project work under the guidance of the scientist. A lecture series on popular science topics, scientific ethics, good laboratory practices, and opportunities in life sciences will be organized for the students. At the end of the program, students must submit a ‘Project Report’ of the work done and be required to make a poster presentation. The program mainly intends to give students real-time exposure/ hands-on experience in research.

Although efforts are made to consider the ‘statement of purpose/ research interest’ of the selected students (while assigning to different Scientists), it is generally not possible as the allotments are mainly based on the availability of working place(s) in individual laboratories. Therefore, students should be ready to work in any laboratory of CCMB, if selected, irrespective of their stated research interest.

Application procedure

An authorization letter from the HOD/ DEAN of the Institute/ University/ College for the Summer Program- 2024 should be submitted online. The names of the selected candidates will be put up on the CCMB Website.
